The Urbana High School Class of 1966 will hold the 50th reunion Aug. 5 and 6 this year to coincide with the 175th anniversary of the Champaign County Fair.

Friday, Aug. 5 – “Together Again Back in the Sixties” – will be a casual gathering at the home of Dan and Cheryl Stickley Walter, 932 Old Farm Road, Urbana. The fun begins at 5 p.m. and will feature food, drink, and music reminiscent of the Sixties in Urbana. Primary access and parking will be from Melvin Miller Park behind the Walter home and accessible from Children’s Home Road.

Saturday, Aug. 6 – “50 Year Dinner and Music” – will take place at BrownRidge Hall (former Daily Citizen building, 220 E. Court St.). It is notable that this is also the former site of Central Ward School which some classmates attended. Dinner will include appetizers and desserts. Entrees are Boursin Chicken and Roasted Pork Loin. Classmates are asked to please specify entree when registering. A vegetarian dish (pasta) will also be available upon request. Drinks will be provided as well as a cash bar. A professional DJ will entertain following the dinner hour. Cost for this event is $30 per person.

Additional Saturday and Sunday events such as tours of points of interest are being planned.

Those attending should make checks payable to UHS Class of ’66 and mail attention: Dan and Cheryl Walter, 932 Old Farm Rd., Urbana, OH 43078.

All are asked to RSVP by July 1 even if attending only one event in order to provide an estimate for food and drink service.
