Man pleads guilty to drug trafficking, possession

A second person pleaded guilty on Monday to charges related to a late March drug raid.

Jason T. Daniels, 35, pleaded guilty to felony charges of trafficking in heroin and possession of heroin in addition to two first degree misdemeanor endangering children charges. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 6.

Daniels is one of three people indicted in relation to a drug raid conducted by the Urbana Police Division at 718 Mosgrove St. on March 29.

Several officers responded to the residence on that evening as the result of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking offenses from the location involving heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, Suboxone, prescription narcotics and marijuana within the vicinity of a school and while young children were present.

Misty S. Shorten, 27, pleaded guilty to an amended felony charge of attempted tampering of evidence, felony trafficking in cocaine and permitting drug abuse and two first degree misdemeanor endangering children charges last Friday. A sentencing hearing for Shorten is scheduled for June 30.

Andrew D. Evilsizor, 34, was also indicted for trafficking in cocaine and possession of cocaine in April. Evilsizor is also charged with breaking and entering and grand theft of a motor vehicle stemming from an alleged Dec. 17, 2015, breaking and entering theft of a Polaris ATV from a West Water Street residence.

A final pretrial conference for Evilsizor in both cases is scheduled for June 27.

Woman pleads guilty to drug possession

In a separate case, a woman pleaded guilty to a felony drug possession charge stemming from a March 25 drug raid.

Adriana S. Kelly, 18, pleaded guilty to a fifth degree felony aggravated possession of drugs charge Monday. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 1.

Kelly was one of three people indicted during an Urbana Police raid at 423 Louden St., on March 25.

Nolan J. Nickerson, 19, was indicted for two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs and one count each of aggravated possession of drugs, possession of drugs, possession of marijuana and illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia in April.

A final pretrial conference in Nickerson’s case is scheduled for June 27.

Wesley M. Peltier, 19, of 225 Logan St., Urbana, was also indicted for aggravated possession of drugs in April. A hearing on Peltier’s motion for intervention in lieu of conviction is scheduled for June 3.
