Sterling House of Urbana, 609 E. Water St., is changing its name to Brookdale Urbana to reflect its connection to the Brookdale senior living family and the network of services it provides for senior adults. Brookdale communities across Ohio similarly are changing their names.

In a news release, Tonya Barrett, executive director of the Urbana facility, states: “Becoming a part of Brookdale shows that we are a part of something bigger and that we are engaged in a nationwide mission to provide seniors with the highest quality care, service and living accommodations … Our associates have always provided exemplary care for our residents and that will not change.”

Headquartered near Nashville, Brookdale is the nation’s largest operator of senior living services. With approximately 1,150 communities in 46 states, Brookdale operates independent living, assisted living, dementia-care communities and continuing care retirement centers.
