Corbett receives Triad Distinguished Alumni Award

NORTH LEWISBURG – The Triad Distinguished Alumni Committee announced that the 2016 Triad Distinguished Alumni Award will be awarded to Bob Corbett, who has a long history of leadership and public service. After graduating from Triad High School in 1962, he began to further his education by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Personnel Management from Urbana University and then a master’s degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.

He began his first term as a school board member for the Triad Local School District in 1975 and continued in this role through 1983. He then served on the Champaign County School Board from 1984 to 1994. During his time as a member of the county board of education, he spent six years on the Southwest Ohio School Board Association in the positions of Legislative and Policy Committee member, Trustee and State Officer of the Nominating Committee.

After his time on the various school boards, Corbett was elected a Champaign County commissioner in 1995 and is in his sixth term in that office. Over the last 21 years in this role, he has held several positions, including seats on the Tri-County Regional Jail Board of Directors and the Champaign County Communications Center Council of Governments. He continues to work at the state level on the County Commissioners Association of Ohio, for which he has served as a Trustee since 1999. He has been on the County Employee Benefits Consortium of Ohio Board of Directors since 2005.
