Some schools in Champaign County will have their first days of school this week, while others will start a bit later.
Urbana City Schools and Triad Local Schools both start Thursday, Aug. 20. Mechanicsburg Exempted Village Schools and Graham Local Schools will start Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Urbana University’s first day is Monday, Aug. 24.
West Liberty-Salem Local Schools is starting much later this year, due to its building project. The first day of school is Sept. 9, and school days will be longer to get students out in May at the end of the school year.
High school football season begins on Friday, Aug. 28, and UU kicks off the football season on Saturday, Sept. 5, when it hosts Glenville State.
Graham Local Schools is one of the districts that opens next week.
