Meet sweet little Chip, a 6-year-old Chihuahua. He is a little “chip” of a dog weighing in at four and a half pounds. Chip likes people and does well with children. As with all dogs, small children should be supervised at all times when interacting with any animal. Chip seems to be indifferent around cats and with other dogs he has met. He was released to us because his owner has serious health issues and could no longer care for him. Chip would appreciate a patient owner who would work with him on his house-training skills. As with all Champaign County Animal Welfare League (CCAWL) pets, Chip is completely vetted. Included in the $130 adoption donation is spaying/neutering, vaccinations including rabies, worming, heart-worm testing and treated with flea and heart-worm prevention. CCAWL adopted dogs also come micro-chipped and have their 2016 dog license and dental cleaning. Please come by and visit Chip or any of our other pets at CCAWL. You may reach us by calling 937-834-5236. We are located at 3858 SR 56, Mechanicsburg, OH, 43044. Our hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. We are closed Tuesday and Sunday. If later hours are needed, appointments are available. Dog and cat applications may be found online at www.champaigncountyanimalwelfareleague.com. You may fax an adoption application to 937-834-5171. A complete listing of our available pets may be found at petfinder.com and adoptapet.com. In an effort to help with the feral cat problem, the Champaign County Animal Welfare League’s TNR Task Force is sponsoring a no cost, trap, neuter and return “TNR” blitz in St. Paris on Tuesday, May 3rd. Feral cats will be sterilized, vaccinated, wormed and flea treated on May 4 at the CCAWL clinic and returned back to their location on May 5. We would appreciate you keeping your personal cat inside during the trapping on Tuesday. Trapping “TNR” will continue weekly for as long as it takes to get the feral cat population sterilized. If you are interested in becoming a part of the CCAWL TNR Task Force or would like to help sponsor our cause, please contact us by calling 937-834-5236. Check out our Facebook page for details and specific trapping target areas.
