Trial dates were scheduled this week for a vehicular homicide case related to a fatal crash June 14, 2015.

During a case scheduling conference on Tuesday, four trial dates were scheduled in the case of Matthew G. King. If the case goes to trial it will be scheduled for July 26-29.

King, 21, of West Liberty, was indicted earlier this month on two counts each of aggravated vehicular homicide, aggravated vehicular assault, vehicular assault and one count of operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol, a drug of abuse or a combination.

Officials responded June 14, 2015, to a crash involving a westbound vehicle on state Route 296 that went off the right side of the roadway, striking an embankment and ejecting all three occupants.

The three occupants who were injured included King, Mayci Powell and Mackenzee R. Hartley.

Hartley was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, via CareFlight before being flown to Ohio State University Hospital, where she died that day.

King pleaded not guilty to the charges against him during an arraignment hearing on April 7.

During that hearing, Champaign County Prosecutor Kevin Talebi said King faces a mandatory prison if convicted of the second-degree felony aggravated vehicular homicide charge.

In addition to trial dates, a status conference was scheduled for May 26, a final pretrial conference for June 27 and a hearing on exhibit admissibility for July 18.
