Graham softball team swept ST. PARIS - The Graham softball team lost a doubleheader to visiting Sidney on Saturday in non-league action.
In Game 1, Sidney rolled past Graham in five innings, 15-2. Kara Ivon was charged with the loss.
In Game 2, Sidney scored four runs in the third inning and held on for a 6-2 victory. Chelsea Black took the loss for Graham, which is now 1-3 on the season.
Next up for the Falcons is Greenon at 5 p.m. today.
WL-S girls remain unbeaten
WEST LIBERTY - The Tigers improved to 4-0 with two victories over Houston in non-league softball action Saturday.
In Game 1, Emily Kauffman tossed a one-hitter in a complete-game shutout.
WL-S won 4-0 behind a 3-for-3 performance by Abbey Ledford, who also had a triple. Shae Blake and Ellie Mescher added two hits apiece in the win.
In Game 2, Ledford added three more hits including a double and 2 RBI en route to a 4-3 win.
Devon Woodruff recorded two hits while Blake had a double and 2 RBI. Emily Detwiler went the distance on the mound for the victory.
WL-S hopes to remain unbeaten today when it hosts conference foe Northeastern at 5 p.m.
UHS splits with Miami East
CASSTOWN - The Hillclimbers scored three runs in the top of the fifth inning and held on to complete a 5-4 come-from-behind victory Saturday in their first game at Miami East in non-league softball action.
Alyza Sherman paced UHS with two hits and three runs, Danielle Buckney added a double and pitcher Leanna Pittsenbarger fanned five.
In Game 2, Miami East pulled off a five-spot in the fourth inning en route to an 8-6 victory.
Alisha Campbell and Chelcie Underwood both drove in two runs for the Falcons while Chelsey Keller scored twice. Urbana (2-1) plays at 5 p.m. today at Ben Logan.
