Gary R. Bacher Gary R. Bacher, 65, of Urbana, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Mercy Memorial Hospital after a long battle with emphysema.
He was born on June 19, 1945 in Urbana to Raymond C. and Jeanne (Holding) Bacher. He graduated from Youngstown State University in 1971 and was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Gary spent many of his years in the Los Angeles/ San Diego area prior to his return to Urbana. He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents Paul A. and Helen (McKeever) Holding of Urbana, and Edwin P. and Helen (Hecker) Bacher of Dayton.
He is survived by his sister Susan B. Droste of Richmond, VA, Scott Bacher of Spring, TX, and David Bacher of St. Paris, Ohio. He had 6 nieces and 4 nephews and many cousins that he adored. Gary requested that his body be donated to science. A private gathering was held by his siblings.
