Martha J. Snyder Martha J. Snyder, 82 of Mount Sterling died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 1:15 p.m. in her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 16, 1927 in Fayette County, Ohio a daughter of William and Celanda (Crawford) Holcomb. Martha was a member of the London Chapter # 386, Order of the Eastern Star, and volunteered at the Madison County Hospital and Meals on Wheels. She was a dedicated fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, attended the Madison County Senior Citizen Day Care, where she became like family. Martha received wonderful care at home from Loving Care of London, and was so appreciative to have received special care from Dr. Robinette Huston and her nurse Rachel.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda Anthony of Mount Sterling; sons and daughters in law Terry and Margaret Snyder of Mechanicsburg, Dean and Michelle Snyder of London; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold D. Snyder in 2000; brothers William Holcomb, Jr., Dale Crawford and son in law Tim Anthony.
A celebration of Martha's life will be held at the RADER-LYNCH AND DODDS FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. High St. London on Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Reverend Ken Martin, of the Newport United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Paint Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from noon until the time of the service. The family asks that in lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions be made in Martha's name to the Madison County Senior Day Care, or to Loving Care Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
